KNIFE MAKING Part 1
Today I have resumed my old hobby of knife making! It is something that I have been involved with during the greater part of my life, but not had as much time for the past few years. I think it is very relaxing and it is a nice feeling to use something you have produced yourself when you are out in the woods. Another advantage is that you can customize the knife to suit your preference and taste, all have, for example, not as big hands. In this winter I have thought of trying to make some damascus steel and make a knife or two of it. But the question is if I still can forge? It is about 15 years since I last made the damascus steel, so we’ll see. I thought atleast share with me of this project to begin with. The idea is that I will get with both pictures and descriptions from the whole process. ? I started with the two knives that I am thinking that the 2 oldest sons would get for christmas (if I have time). I will also do a series on YouTube about the project.
STEP 1 SELECT AND GLUE THE MATERIAL.
I had 2 pcs blade model Morakniv lying around in the basement and a few pieces of masur birch and beech.
Easy! It was day one. ?
See you tomorrow for part 2!
